Sam is a likeable, outgoing youngster who is known for his positive attitude and respect towards others. His teachers call him a “sweetheart,” while his social worker says he is a “great kid.” Sam is eager to find a loving family who will make a permanent commitment to him. Sam, 11, loves to keep active and has a natural athletic ability. He is a football and baseball fan, but he also likes to snow board and play golf. Sam picked up golf from a previous foster home, and he enjoys taking lessons. Sam’s dream ambition is to be a sports star when he gets older, but he is also interested in becoming a police officer. Sam has just completed the fourth grade and benefits from minimal special education services to help him catch up. His foster mother says he is a hard worker both at home and in school. At home, he willingly pitches in with chores around the house. Sam has lived with his present foster home since last November and gets along well with the members of his foster family. He follows the household rules and accepts consequences for his behavior. His foster mother finds him to be a pleasure to have around and describes him as a “rough gem.” Sam has wonderful, endearing qualities and will benefit from continued limit-setting as needed. Despite the many losses in his life, Sam is resilient and perseveres in overcoming the challenges associated with his history. Sam is adaptable and has done well in a busy, active household with other children, but would also do fine as an only child. Ideally, his social worker is seeking a single father or a two-parent family. Legally free for adoption, Sam is ready for a family to call his own and would add joy and laughter to any home. |
