Robert

February 1998

Sports, sports, and more sports!! Robert is a very athletic young boy who thrives when having opportunities to be involved in community and school sports. His favorites &Celtics and Red Sox. As Robert will tell you, he eats, sleeps, plays, and breaths sports. He'd rather watch ESPN than cartoons in the morning! Besides sports, Robert loves the color green, likes Spiderman Movies, plays board games and likes animals - especially bunnies, dogs, and cats. He loves to go camping, swimming, beaches, playing ping-pong and pool, fishing, and eating mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli with cheese sauce.

Affectionate, bright, funny, loves to joke around, polite, resilient, sensitive to other's feelings . . . all ways in which many people describe Robert. His Social Worker tells us that he is the cutest red head she has seen in her life! His foster mother describes him as very loving, which comes with trust. She says that he is fun, has a great sense of humor, he has the ability to go with the flow when he is feeling safe and begins to trust. Robert does have the ability to shut down, but when trust is built, he'll begin to open up.

Robert is currently in the 4th grade and enjoys school. His foster mother says that he is doing awesome in school, but it does not come easy for him. He works extremely hard and his foster mother works with him daily. His favorite subjects are Social Studies because he gets to learn about the world, and Math because he likes multiplication.

In his own words Robert explains what adoption means to him ... "I feel like I am in a box and I can't get out because there is only a tiny little door. If I could make that hole bigger and get out &that would be adoption to me."

Robert needs a stable family, one to call his own and continue living his life in one place. He prefers a family who loves sports and has older children for him to look up to.
