Frankie

"I really haven’t had a childhood” That is how 15 year old Frankie describes his life, and his desire, even at this age, for a forever family.  “I haven’t had a family for years, and most of my childhood has been spent in “programs.” Frankie worried that putting that in his write-up would turn people off.  “Who will want a kid who has spent so many years in group homes” he asked? I explained to Frankie that people understand that waiting children come into care not because of anything they did wrong.  That is hasn’t been his fault that he has grown up in group homes.

“I have missed out on so much…friends, regular kid stuff, like sleepovers, movies, hanging out.  I want a family that I can laugh with.  Someone who is willing to listen to my stories.  Someone who will understand where I came from, and what I have been through.  Someone who will love my big brothers the way that I do.”

Frankie has always been able to express himself well and talks easily about his feelings. Frankie says it is hard to live in a group home and not have people that visit you and take you out.  Most of the other boys have that.  He wants people to know that he can be pretty funny, and has great manners.  He has always loved music and dancing and is currently taking Hip Hop dance class twice a week. Frankie loves dogs and would love to have one of his own

Frankie still has hope that a family is out there for him. If you are that family, or if you have some time to spend with a great boy, please call Judy at Adoption Rhode Island.
